The Starry Night

The picture ‘’Starry Night’’ is a masterpiece of the Neo-Impressionist painter Vicent Van Gogh, that is in the MoMa Museum (New York).  This picture shows a night from a window of a room in the sanatorium ‘’Saint-Rémy-de-Provence’, where he lived the last period of his life’. Different houses of the town and trees are painted in the foreground.

It was inspired by the night­­­­­­­­­­­­­­, it was painted in day  from memory, in 1889, thirteen months before  his suicide. Since  1941 it formed part of the permanent Collection in the Museum of Art of New York.It Is considered the magnum opus of Van Gogh, that has been reproduced a lot of times. It is one of his best known pictures.
